Large Montieth Bowl

Stately and beautifully shaped, this large brass bowl is modeled after the classic monteith, with a dramatic scalloped rim edged in a molded border. A rounded, generous body rests on a footed pedestal base, and two sculpted scroll handles flank the sides, adding a graceful, ornamental touch. The warm, glowing brass carries a mellow, time-worn patina with soft variations in tone that give it depth and character.

Substantial enough to make a statement on its own, it works wonderfully as a centerpiece filled with fruit, branches, or florals, or as a handsome cachepot for a large plant. Traditionally used to chill wine glasses or serve punch, it also makes an elegant vessel for a dining table, sideboard, or entry console. The rich brass pairs easily with both traditional and contemporary interiors.
