Mahogany Box

Classic and beautifully proportioned, this antique tea caddy is a charming example of English Regency-era design. The sarcophagus form features a gently stepped, pyramidal lid topped with a simple rectangular handle, resting on a tapered case with a warm, glowing mahogany finish. A small inlaid shield-shaped escutcheon surrounds the keyhole, and turned bun feet give the piece a graceful lift.

The rich reddish-brown patina and soft surface wear reflect generations of use, adding the depth and character that only comes with age.
